My Work

Below is an overview of the projects I’m actively involved in or currently working to build in partnership with Extra Mile Pediatrics, La Red, and One ATTA Time. Each initiative is focused on reducing preventable diseases - many of which are easily addressed but often overlooked in the communities we serve.

But for me, this work goes far beyond physical needs.
My heart is to meet people where they are - just as Jesus did. I want every child and every family we reach to feel seen, cared for, and deeply loved. Through each of these projects, my hope is to remind them they are never alone.

Pediatric Medical Clinics and Vision Screenings

Four times a year, Extra Mile Pediatrics travels to Guatemala and El Salvador to host recurring pediatric medical clinics, providing care to the same children and families each visit. These clinics go beyond treating short-term illness - they focus on foundational health issues like nutrition, growth, and development.

While the team is equipped to manage acute concerns (such as coughs, wheezing, infections, and rashes), their emphasis is on understanding and addressing the root causes of poor health across entire communities. By returning to the same locations again and again, they’re able to build trust, develop relationships, and tailor their care to each community’s unique needs and barriers.

Another key component is vision screening. Using specialized tools, they’re able to detect vision issues in children and provide glasses when needed. For some kids, that can mean the difference between staying in school or falling behind.

As part of this initiative, I’ll be partnering with Extra Mile Pediatrics during their clinics and providing follow-up care for special cases when I’m in-country more frequently. This ensures ongoing support and deeper connection with the families we serve.

Clean Water Projects & Initiatives

One ATTA Time provides long-lasting clean water filters to families across Central and South America and the Pacific Islands - filters that can serve a household for 10+ years. These filters have the potential to dramatically reduce waterborne illnesses and change the long-term health outcomes of entire communities.

In my role as Health Programs Manager for One ATTA Time, my goal over the coming years is to expand the reach and impact of these efforts by:

  • Developing community-wide parasite treatment protocols to accompany clean water distribution

  • Creating and delivering WASH education materials (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene)

  • Training local leaders to champion hygiene and disease prevention in their own communities

  • Collecting data to measure how access to clean water and hygiene education improves overall community health

This initiative isn’t just about filters - it’s about empowering communities with the tools, knowledge, and support to take charge of their health and future.

Special Needs Ministry: Therapy Services & Spiritual Support

I’m currently in the planning and early implementation stages of expanding access to physical therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy for children in the communities we serve.

For some, this might mean walking for the first time.
For others, it could be the support they need to stay in school, grow in confidence, and thrive.

My goal is simple but bold: to ensure that every child who needs therapy can access it - whether through visiting therapists or by connecting families with local professionals. Beyond that, we aim to walk alongside families, helping them:

  • Understand their child’s condition

  • Gain practical tools to improve daily life

  • Receive spiritual encouragement as they face the unique challenges of raising a child with special needs

Most of all, I want every child - and every parent - to know they are valuable, deeply loved, and never alone. In a culture where many have been told they are broken or a burden, I want them to hear a new message:

You are loved. You are worthy. You were created with purpose.
Not just by me - but by Jesus.

Health Promotion and Education

As I work alongside families and communities, one of my biggest hopes is to expand access to health education - empowering people to better understand their own health and make informed decisions for themselves and their children.

This initiative is deeply rooted in listening first. Every community faces unique challenges, and I believe the most meaningful solutions come from learning those struggles, building trust, and walking alongside people with humility and respect.

Over time, this project will grow to include:

  • Basic health & hygiene education

  • Nutrition awareness

  • Preventative care practices

  • Support for managing chronic conditions

  • Equipping local leaders to share what they’ve learned

Ultimately, my goal is to help families take ownership of their health, reduce preventable illness, and build long-term wellness from within each community.

Each of these projects - medical care, clean water, therapy access, education, and spiritual support - may look different on the surface, but at their core, they all share the same mission: to love, serve, and uplift children and families through compassionate, Christ-centered care.

Whether it's helping a child walk for the first time, providing clean water to prevent illness, or simply listening to a parent’s fears - this ministry exists to meet people where they are and remind them they are not forgotten.

This is just the beginning, and I’m so grateful to have you on this journey with me.

If something in these stories moved you, I invite you to be part of what God is doing.

Your support makes it possible to bring therapy, clean water, education, and hope to the children and families who need it most.

Every gift matters. Every prayer matters. And every step forward is one we take together.
